- Catchup depends what you want to start with. I scanned some photos on a
- PowerMac with a nice 600 dpi scanner, and 24 bit screen display. That
- computer set up, with 32 M of memory and a 17" screen probably cost $5000
- (US), not counting the scanner.

- a 4M fast-ram card, and viewed the JPEGS in AGA Ham8 for only about $1,000.

- Sure, if I was editing professionally, I would want 32 or 64 bit resolution, I
- suppose. But personally, I want a capable computer at a low price that is
- easy to use. Amiga beats all the others out at that, still, once you figure
- in the price of the 16 or 32M of ram + 64 bit video card for Mac or PC.
